India will lock horns with Nepal in their final group match of the SAFF U19 Women’s Championship 2024 at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, February 6.

Under head coach Sukla Dutta, the India U19 women’s football team will look to bounce back after succumbing to a 0-1 defeat to Bangladesh at the same venue on Sunday.
India conceded a stoppage time goal as Bangladesh forward Mosammat Sagorika netted the match-winning goal in the 92nd minute of the game to guide the hosts to the final of the SAFF U19 Women’s Championship 2024.
Earlier, the India U19 women’s football team thrashed Bhutan 10-0 in their opening match of the ongoing tournament on Friday.
Pooja netted four goals while Sibani Devi bagged a first-half hat-trick. Star striker Sulanjana Raul, substitutes Menaka Lourembam and Arina Devi also found the back of the net once each to power India to a dominating victory.
With three points from two matches, India are currently placed second in the standings.
On the other hand, the Nepal U19 women’s football team started their campaign with a 1-3 loss to Bangladesh.
However, they later bounced back to defeat Bhutan 1-0 in their second match of the tournament.
With one win and one loss, Nepal are third in the standings with three points and placed below India due to an inferior goal difference.
Meanwhile, Nepal were the runners-up in the previous edition of the SAFF U19 Women’s Championship after losing 0-3 to Bangladesh in the 2023 final. India finished in third place and previously won the women’s tournament in 2022.
