The Iceland national football team will take on Portugal in their Group J UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers at the Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavik, Iceland. The match will kick off at 12:15 Indian Standard Time (IST) on Wednesday, June 21.

Under the tutelage of head coach Age Hareide, Iceland will head into the crucial game after succumbing to a 1-2 defeat against Slovakia in their previous UEFA European Championship 2024 qualifying clash at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Iceland started their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers campaign with a 0-3 loss versus Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, the Aron Gunnarsson-led side quickly bounced back to annihilate Liechtenstein 7-0 in their away fixture.

With one win and two defeats, Iceland are currently placed fifth in the Group J standings.

On the other hand, the Portugal national football team has been one of the most dominant sides in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Led by captain Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal head into the game after thrashing Bosnia 3-0 in their last match.

A Seleção have also hammered Liechtenstein 4-0 in their opening UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers fixture, and followed it up by registering a 6-0 win over Luxembourg.

Having remained unbeaten in the group stage of the UEFA Euro qualifiers, Portugal are currently placed at the top of Group J standings with nine points from three matches.

Going by recent form and team combination, Portugal will start as favourites to bag another win over struggling Iceland.
