The Gujarat Super League 2024 will start on May 1 and run till May 12 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Organised by the Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA), the inaugural Gujarat Super League is the first franchise-based football league in Gujarat.
The Gujarat Super League 2024 will see as many as six franchises compete in a total of 16 matches for the inaugural GSL title.
Ahmedabad Avengers, Gandhinagar Giants, Karnavati Knights, Saurashtra Spartans, Surat Strikers and Vadodara Warriors are the teams that will participate in GSL 2024.
Each team will play the other five sides once in a single round-robin format. The top two teams in the standings after the end of the league stage will qualify for the GSL 2024 final.
All Gujarat Super League 2024 matches will be played at the EKA Arena, TransStadia in Ahmedabad.
The GSL will become the second Indian football tournament to be streamed globally on FIFA+ after the Santosh Trophy.
The winner of the upcoming football competition will receive a cash prize of INR 11 lakh, while the runner-up will get INR 5 lakh.
Additionally, the best players in eight different categories will bag a prize money of INR 25,000 each based on their performance throughout the competition.
The main objective of GSL is to make football more popular and strengthen the sport in the state of Gujarat.
A total of 250 players from Gujarat and 36 others from 10 different states were selected by the six teams through a draft system.
Most of these players have had the experience of playing in various national tournaments like Santosh Trophy, I-League, I-League 2, I-League 3, Durand Cup, AIFF Youth Leagues, Reliance Foundation Development League, and other state leagues.
Where to watch Gujarat Super League 2024 live in India
Live streaming of the Gujarat Super League 2024 will be available on the Gujarat State Football Association’s YouTube channel. All matches will also be live streamed on FIFA+.
There will be no live telecast of the Gujarat Super League 2024 matches on any TV channel.
