France is all set to resume their UEFA European Championship 2024 qualifiers campaign when they face Gibraltar at the Estadio Algarve on Saturday. The match will begin at 12:15 PM IST.

Two-time UEFA Euro champions France made a stunning start to their qualifiers campaign thanks to a 4-0 triumph over the Netherlands followed by a 1-0 win against Ireland.

With two wins from two games, they sit on top of the Group B standings and are yet to concede a goal in their qualifiers campaign.

Needless to say, France will be heavy favourites against European minnows Gibraltar who are ranked 201 in the FIFA rankings while Les Blues are second.

Even though France will be without the likes of injured trio Lucas Hernandez, Adrien Rabiot, and William Saliba while Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema retired from international football, they still boast a star-studded squad capable of annihilating Gibraltar.

The likes of Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe are likely to lead France’s attacking line which certainly doesn’t make for kind reading for a rock-bottom Gibraltar team with 0 points, two losses and six goals conceded in Group B.

While stranger things have happened in football, the chances of Gibraltar coming away with anything from this game are virtually non-existent.

Gibraltar is likely to play in a defensive shape with extra cover at the back as they aim to avoid a thrashing against the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-ups.

Both of Gibraltar’s losses in their ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying campaign were 3-0 defeats against Greece and the Netherlands. The loss against Greece came in front of their home fans.
