Round 2 of FIFA World Cup 2022 African qualifiers resumes on Thursday, November 11 with Uganda opening the proceedings against Kenya.

With only two matches left for each team to play in the second round, the action is expected to intensify. Of the 10 groups, only two teams - Senegal and Morocco - have won their first four matches, making them the only nations to advance to the third round already.

Meanwhile, as many as 17 teams have already been eliminated while it is all to play for as far as the likes of Algeria, Tunisia, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Egypt and South Africa are concerened.

The Mohamed Salah-led Egypt are in Group F alongside Libya, Gabon and an Angola team that’s already eliminated. Egypt have won three of their four matches so far and will be up against Angola and Gabon next.

Algeria, led by Riyad Mahrez who has scored four goals in the qualifiers, are in Group A and are currently the highest-scoring team in the Africa qualifiers with 19 goals in just four matches. Six of those 19 goals have been scored by Islam Slimani. Algeria’s next matches are against Djibouti and Burkina Faso.

Group B leader Tunisia have won three of their four matches, drawing one and are one of the 10 teams that are yet to lose a match in the Africa qualifiers so far. Their next assignments come against Equatorial Guinea and Zambia.

Meanwhile, South Africa are currently the joint-lowest goal-scoring team amongst the group leaders. The Group G table-toppers have scored just five goals in four matches and have conceded once.
