Manchester City’s away trip to Anfield headlines Gameweek 7 of the Premier League. The defending champions defeated Liverpool 4-1 the last time they travelled to Anfield and they will be eager to condemn Jurgen Klopp’s men to their first loss in the league this season.

Other fixtures in Gameweek 7 includes Manchester United playing host to Everton while Chelsea welcome Southampton at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal travel to Falmer Stadium to face Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur host Aston Villa at home.

With that being said, here are our top picks for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 7:

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 7 tips to make your team

Best attacker: Romelu Lukaku

Striker Romelu Lukaku loves playing against Southampton. The former Everton and Manchester United forward has scored nine goals in his 12 Premier League matches against the Saints which is the joint-most he has netted against any single opponent. Even though he hasn’t found the back of the net in his last three matches, the clash against Southampton is likely to see the Belgian regain his goal-scoring form.

Best defender: Marcos Alonso

Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso has revived his career under manager Thomas Tuchel. For someone who was heading towards a summer exit, a total of 39 fantasy points after six games is a fantastic return. Although Chelsea have struggled to keep a clean sheet against Southampton in the recent past with just one shutout in their last five matches, Alonso’s attacking instinct and the Blues’ organized defence makes him a great option to have in the team.

Budget player:  Allan Saint-Maximin

At just £6.8m, Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin is a steal. The French forward, who has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, has earned 35 fantasy points so far and considering Wolves’ struggle at the back, that tally is expected to swell over the weekend. Regardless of the result, Saint-Maximin is likely to play a part in Newcastle United’s attacking output.
