Premier League football resumes this weekend after teams were involved in the UEFA Champions League for the first time this term.

The Gameweek five schedule is headlined by the London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, September 19. Elsewhere, league leaders Manchester United look to bounce back from their midweek disappointment in Europe when they travel to an in-form West Ham.

Here are our picks for Premier League Gameweek 5:

Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 5 tips to make your team

Best attacker: Patrick Bamford

Leeds United have a comfortable set of fixtures coming their way, and investing in Patrick Bamford could be a feasible option. The England striker opened his scoring account for the Premier League 2021 season in the 1-1 draw at Burnley, and could find the net against a struggling Newcastle United.

Best defender: Nelson Semedo

Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo has yet to showcase his true potential as a wing-back this season, and the opportunity could arise when Wolves host Brentford.

Semedo was overshadowed by left-back Fernando Marcal’s 13-point tally at Watford but regained his best against the visiting newcomers, who have failed to win a game since their opening day win against Arsenal.

Budget player: Ferran Torres

Manchester City host Southampton on Saturday, and will look up to Ferran Torres to spark a difference. The Spanish midfielder, who can also operate as a central striker, is poised to retain his place in the starting XI and anchor a landslide victory for the Cityzens.

Torres has accumulated 26 fantasy points so far this season, and would like to stage another performance similar to his outing against Arsenal in Gameweek three.

Fantasy Premier League stats for Gameweek 5 fixtures

Newcastle v Leeds

Leeds triumphed in both meetings with Newcastle last season and are looking to win consecutive games for the first time since 1967.

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur are winless in their last five Premier League matches against Chelsea (four losses, one draw). Furthermore, they have managed to score just once in these encounters.

Chelsea are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 away matches, while Tottenham have won five of their last six home matches.
