Indian Super League (ISL) champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant will travel to Dhaka, Bangladesh to face Bashundhara Kings in their fourth Group D match of AFC Cup 2023-24 at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on Tuesday, November 7.
The Bashundhara Kings vs Mohun Bagan AFC Cup 2023-24 match will kick off at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
Under the tutelage of head coach Juan Ferrando, Mohun Bagan will aim to return to winning ways in the ongoing AFC Cup after being held to a 2-2 draw by Bashundhara Kings in their previous Group D fixture at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Australian forward Dimitri Petratos gave Mohun Bagan an early lead in the 29th minute before Brazilian footballer Dori equalised for the Kings four minutes later.
In the second half, Asish Rai put the Mariners in front courtesy his strike in the 54th minute, but they couldn’t hold on to the lead as the Kings’ Robinho converted a crucial penalty for the visitors to end Mohun Bagan’s seven-game winning streak.
Earlier, Mohun Bagan began their AFC Cup 2023-24 campaign in an emphatic fashion as they thrashed local rivals Odisha FC 4-0. Juan Ferrando’s men continued their good run as they overcame Maldives’ Maziya Sports and Recreation Club 2-1 in their second group match.
With seven points from three matches, Mohun Bagan are currently placed at the top of the Group D standings.
On the other hand, Bashundhara Kings are currently placed second in the standings with four points from three matches.
The Kings lost to Maziya 1-3 in their opening AFC Cup 2023-24 fixture, before they bounced back to pip Odisha FC 3-2 at their home.
As per the AFC Cup format, only the table topper will advance to the AFC Cup inter-zone play-off semi-finals.
