Breakout star right-winger Timothy Weah is joining Olympique de Marseille, officially entering Ligue 1 ahead of the 2025/26 season. His fee is reported to be €15 million, with add‑ons likely to push the total higher. Weah is moving from Juventus on loan, with a conditional obligation to buy in 2026.

Who is Timothy Weah?

Timothy Weah is an American right-winger who is also capable of playing as a right-back or striker. He plays for the US Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) in international competitions. Weah took part in the US teams that won the CONCACAF Nations League in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

Before moving to Marseille, Weah played for Juventus, where he made 78 appearances, scored 7 goals, and made 6 assists across competitions. He was part of the squad that won the Coppa Italia in 2023/24.

Nottingham Forest lost bid

Before Marseille agreed to sign Weah, he was expected to move to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Nottingham Forest had reached an agreement with Juventus for a total of €22–23 million, €15 million of which was for Weah and the rest for Samuel Mbangula. However, Weah personally declined to finalise the move, leading to the collapse of the deal.
