Wolves Women are making big plans for the future after a tough end to their season. The team fought hard for a shot at promotion to the Women's Championship but felt let down when they learned the club would not apply for a license to play in the new Women’s Super League 2. This decision left players feeling their efforts were 'all for nothing.'

On the last day of the Women's National League season, Wolves faced Nottingham Forest in a crucial match that would shape their future. The game ended with Nottingham Forest winning 2-1.

After this match, Wolves found themselves in a tricky spot. They had aimed for promotion but were left without the chance. Chairman Jeff Shi spoke about the need for change, saying the club will now apply for a Tier 2 license every year, tied to their performance on the field.

He said, ‘We believe Wolves Women can continue to progress - and that belief will be backed by improved structure, support, communication and leadership. That's what we are committing to putting in place.’ Wolves plan to set up an independent board just for the women’s side and hire a full-time lead to help grow their finances.
