Manchester City’s summer signing Erling Haaland looks well underway as far as cementing his place in the Premier League record books goes. The Norwegian striker, who signed from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022, has been banging in goals for fun for City across all competitions this season.

Haaland’s exploits in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League are well-documented since his early rise. However, he was unproven in the Premier League, considered the toughest league in Europe. 

But, the Manchester City No.9 has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water. He is on course for a record-breaking season in the competition.

Erling Haaland has scored 28 goals in 26 matches in the Premier League 2022-23. Since his arrival in the 2022 summer transfer window, the 22-year-old has superseded expectations.

The Norwegian striker has already scored more goals in the ongoing league campaign than 2021-22 Premier League top-scorers Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son. 

In Premier League 2022-23, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has averaged a goal every 75 minutes. At his current scoring rate, he is well on course to surpass Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s record for most goals in a Premier League season.

Meanwhile, Haaland has netted five penalties so far this season. The Norwegian striker also boasts five Premier League assists.

After finding the back of the net thrice against Wolves on January 22 - Haaland’s first hat-trick of 2023 - the Norwegian superstar has now netted four hat-tricks for Man City this season in Premier League 2022-23.

Haaland is the first player in the Premier League to score three home hat-tricks in a row. He achieved the feat last year after netting three times, each, against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and arch-rivals Manchester United.

Haaland, in fact, has already surpassed the all-time Premier League hat-trick tally of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jamie Vardy and Frank Lampard. He is the fastest player to 10 and 20 Premier League goals besides being the quickest to grab four Premier League hat-tricks.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland has also scored 12 goals in UEFA Champions League 2022-23, including a hat-trick and one goal in EFL Cup 2022-23. He's also bagged a hat-trick in the FA Cup against Burnely, taking Haaland’s current tally to 51 goals this season for Manchester City.
