With players from Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga enjoying days off, the English Premier League has entered its hectic schedule, while the Indian Super League continues to entertain the fans with its astounding spectacles.

Having said that, there is not a wide range to choose from unlike the other times for the Nostragamus fantasy managers. Thus, we bring you five players who can well and truly save you from the selection headache.

Bartholomew Ogbeche

Kerala Blasters are without a win since their opening day victory over ATK at home. The form has sunk so deep that they have played as many as five draws and have lost four since. Up next for them is a visit of Hyderabad FC, who have been consistently struggling. That said, the one taking the center stage on the night would be their 35-year-old striker, Bartholomew Ogbeche. The Nigerian went on a dry streak since scoring two against ATK in the opener, but has scored twice in his last two games, taking his tally to four this season.

Given how tame Hyderabad have been away from home this season, expect this man to strike.

Roy Krishna

Eight goals in ten ISL games remains an impressive return for someone who is new to the league. ATK’s Roy Krishna has taken the league by storm by showcasing his pure talent, which has helped his team hold on to the second spot in the tally. A regular fixture in Antonio López Habas line-up, Krishna has chipped in goals for fun this season, including two last-minute goals against Hyderabad FC and Mumbai City FC.

Now that it’s time for ATK to travel to Mumbai, expect similar exploits from the Fijian captain.

Ferran Corominas

Sergio Lobera’s FC Goa are unbeaten in their last five games and much of the credit goes to their one and only, Ferran Corominas. The 36-year-old Spanish forward has been in exceptional form this season and has chipped in seven goals in as many appearances this season. His form has been so prolific this season that he has scored in three of Goa’s last five appearances, including a brace against Odisha in a 3-0 win.

Up next for Goa lies a firm test against Bengaluru FC away from home and if The Gaurs are to take anything positive from the game, Coro will have to be at his very best, which he has been for the most of the time this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

A scintillating performance against Leicester City away from home underlines the genius the Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 21-year-old right-back scored one and assisted two on the night as the Reds thrashed the Foxes 4-0 on their turf. Having already scored two goals and with a whopping eight assists, Alexander-Arnold is your go-to man if you’re having any sort of confusion while picking a defender. Liverpool face Sheffield United on Thursday, January 2 (Friday, January 3 – 1:30 am IST) at home and apart from picking a bonus from a clean sheet, expect a few more contributions as well.

Raheem Sterling

A 3-2 defeat away from home to Wolves may have ended Manchester City’s pursuit of winning their third Premier League crown on the trot. All is not lost for Guardiola though. There’s still a titchy chance, but for that to happen, City need to be at their very best for the rest of the fixtures. For that to happen, Guardiola is certain to count Raheem Sterling, who has scored 11 goals in the league this season, including the two City scored against Wolves.

On Wednesday night, City will play host to Everton, who are now under the management of Carlo Ancelotti. Tough game for the teams, yes. But we are anticipating another scoring night for Sterling here.
