Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will face Al Fateh in the Saudi Pro League on February 3 at 8.30 PM IST. This will be Ronaldo’s second match in the league.
Ronaldo made his debut for Al Nassr in an unofficial match against Paris Saint-Germain and went on to make his Saudi Pro League debut against Ettifaq on January 22. Al Nassr won that match courtesy of a first half goal from Talisca.
The Portuguese forward, who is the leading goal-scorer in football history, has played two matches so far for the club - one in the league, one in the League Cup - and is yet to score a goal for his club in the Middle East.
Al Nassr were dealt with a setback against Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super League semi-final, losing the match 1-3. However, despite playing a game less, the nine-time Saudi Pro League champions, are one point ahead of arch-rivals Al Hilal in the league points table.
Al Fateh, Ronaldo’s next opponent, are currently positioned eighth in the Saudi Pro League, registering six wins in 13 matches so far. They have also lost three of their last five league matches, while Al Nassr’s only defeat after the FIFA World Cup 2022 came in their last match in the Super Cup.
Rudi Garcia’s team will bank on their stringent defensive unit to see through this match having conceded just six goals in 14 matches, while scoring 28. Since Ronaldo made his debut, they scored two goals in two official matches and both the strikes came from Brazilian winger Talisca.
