An all-Premier League semi-final awaits in the Carabao Cup 2021-22 as Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur while Liverpool make a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal. The semi-finals of the EFL Cup 2021-22 will be played across two legs.

The quarter-final round of the EFL Cup 2021-22 saw Liverpool and Tottenham get narrow wins while Arsenal and Chelsea cruised had rather easy outings. Forward Eddie Nketiah scored a hat trick while Charlie Patino scored on his debut as Arsenal registered a convincing 5-1 victory over Sunderland. Chelsea, on their part, left it late to beat Brentford 2-0 away from home.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino scored an injury-time equalizer against Leicester City to snatch the victory right out of the Foxes’ jaw. With the scoreline tied at 3-3 after the regular time, the match went into penalties where goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher proved to be the hero in a 5-4 win.

Tottenham, on the other hand, held off a barrage of West Ham United attacks to register a 2-1 win at home. Steven Bergwijn gave the hosts the lead in the 29th minute before Jarrod Bowen levelled within three minutes. Lucas Moura struck four minutes after the half-hour mark as Antonio Conte’s men came out 2-1 victorious.
