ATK Mohun Bagan will lock horns with Indian Navy in their final Group B match of Durand Cup 2022 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Wednesday, August 31. The match will kick off at 6:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
Under manager Juan Ferrando, ATK Mohun Bagan have been inconsistent in the ongoing Durand Cup so far.
The Mariners started their Durand Cup 2022 campaign with a disappointing 2-3 defeat against Rajasthan United at the Salt Lake Stadium. They were later held to a 1-1 draw by Mumbai City FC at the same venue.
However, ATK Mohun Bagan secured a morale-boosting victory in their last fixture as they pipped arch-rivals East Bengal 1-0 in the Kolkata derby to secure three valuable points and stay in contention for a quarter-final berth.
With four points from three matches, ATK Mohun Bagan are currently placed second in the Group B standings, equal on points with third-placed Rajasthan United.
Meanwhile, Mumbai City have already booked their place in the Durand Cup 2022 quarter-finals after registering two wins and one draw so far. The Islanders have accumulated seven points from three games and will face East Bengal in their final group stage match on Saturday.
On the other hand, the Indian Navy outfit has struggled in the ongoing Durand Cup. Indian Navy have managed to salvage just one point from two matches after playing a goalless draw against East Bengal. They earlier succumbed to a 1-4 defeat against Mumbai City FC in their opening fixture.
Indian Navy are later scheduled to square off against Rajasthan United in their last Group B match at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on September 5.
