The Upthrust Esports The Patriot Cup BGMI began on January 23 and will run till January 31 in India.
Organised by Upthrust Esports, as many as 24 teams are competing online in the The Patriot Cup 2024.
Team Soul, Carnival Gaming, Team 8Bit, Enigma Gaming, Aerobotz Esports, WSB Gaming, TWM Gaming, Autobotz Esports, Hydra, Global Esports, Hyderabad Hydras, Team Tamilas, Reckoning Esports, Chemin Esports, OR Esports, Aslaaa Esports, Orangutan Gaming, GodLike Esports, Entity Gaming, Gods Reign, Revenant Esports, Medal Esports,TeamXSpark and Team Joker are the teams that are battling for the title.
These participating teams were divided into three groups of eight teams each in the semi-finals held from January 23-26.
Group A included Team Soul, Carnival Gaming, Team 8Bit, Enigma Gaming, Aerobotz Esports, WSB Gaming, TWM Gaming and Autobotz Esports.
The likes of Hydra, Global Esports, Hyderabad Hydras, Team Tamilas, Reckoning Esports, Chemin Esports, OR Esports and Aslaaa Esports were placed in Group B.
Group C comprised Orangutan, GodLike Esports, Revenant Esports, Medal Esports, TeamXSpark, Entity Gaming, Gods Reign and Team Joker.
The semi-final witnessed 19 invited teams and five qualified teams compete in a round-robin format across four matchdays. Each team played four matches daily during the semi-finals. The top 16 teams in the standings qualified for the Grand Finals to be held from January 28-31.
The team finishing at the top of the standings after all the matches will clinch the coveted title.
Earlier, a total of 512 teams competed in the open qualifiers, out of which the top five teams advanced to the semi-finals.
The Upthrust Esports The Patriot Cup BGMI has a total prize pool of INR 8 lakh. The winner of the B-Tier eSports tournament will receive a cash prize of INR 2.5 lakh while the runner-up will bag INR 1.5 lakh.
The most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 50,000 while the most dominant player will get INR 25,000.
