Popular video game eFootball will be one of the four eSports events that will be staged at Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games held from December 12 to 16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Developed and published by Konami, eFootball is a series of association football simulation video games.

The world’s leading eFootball players will represent their respective nations for the top prize at Global Esports Games 2023.

Apart from eFootball, Dota 2, Street Fighter and PUBG Mobile are the other eSports competitions in the third edition of GEG, hosted by the Global Esports Federation (GEF).

Global Esports Games 2023 eFootball schedule and format

The eFootball event at Global Esports Games 2023 will start on Wednesday, December 13 and run till Saturday, December 16.

As many as 28 eFootball players will compete at the prestigious GEG 2023. These 28 participants have been divided into four groups of seven each.

India's eFootball star Hemanth Kommu will represent the nation at the global, multi-title event.

Known by his gaming handle 'peshemak7’, Hemanth Kommu has been placed in a challenging Group D for the group stage of the Global Esports Games.

Brazil, Iran, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Uruguay are the other leading eFootball teams clubbed in Group D.

The group stage matches at Global Esports Games 2023 will be held in a round-robin best-of-three format on December 13.

The top three teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16 playoffs. 

The tournament will also feature a last-chance qualifier where the fourth-placed player from each group in Stage 1 will compete to secure qualification on December 14. 

Only one player will qualify for the final stage, which will be played in a single elimination best-of-three format.

The eFootball Grand Finals is scheduled to be held on December 16.

A total of 28 players representing 28 nations have qualified for the eFootball event at Global Esports Games 2023. These 28 participating teams have been split into four groups of seven teams each.

Group A: Argentina, Ghana, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates

Group B: Algeria, Belgium, Georgia, Jordan, Panama, Senegal, Turkey

Group C: Albania, Colombia, Italy, Malaysia, Palestine, Peru, Thailand

Group D: Brazil, India, Iran, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Uruguay
