The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) Spring 2024 will start on January 22 and run till April 20 in China.
Organised by Tencent Games, LPL Spring 2024 split is the first split of the 2024 LPL season.
As many as 17 teams will compete in LPL Spring 2024. The top two teams from the competition will directly qualify for Mid-Season Invitational 2024
Founded in 2013, the League of Legends Pro League is the top-level professional league for League of Legends based in China.
JD Gaming are the defending champions of LPL Spring, having clinched the title in 2023.
LPL Spring 2024 format
The LPL Spring 2024 will be staged in two phases - group stage and playoffs.
The group stage will be held in a single round-robin format. All matches will be played in best-of-three series.
The top 10 teams will advance to the playoffs.
In the playoffs, the top two teams from the group stage will be automatically seeded into the semi-finals.
The third and fourth-placed teams will be seeded into the last round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the fifth and sixth placed teams will be seeded into the second round of playoffs.
The teams placed from seventh to 10th will be seeded into the first round of playoffs.
In case two or more teams have won the same number of matches, the tie will be broken by the order:
- Games differential
- Head-to-head results
In Phase 1 of playoffs, the 3rd-10th placed teams from group stage will be divided into two brackets to play a King-of-the-Hill format.
Teams seeded 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 10th will be in one bracket, while 4th, 5th, 8th, and 9th will be clubbed in the other.
The two winners from each bracket (four in total) advance to Phase 2.
In Phase 2, four teams will play in a double-elimination format to battle for the championship. All matches will be held in a best-of-five series.

LPL Spring 2024 prize pool
The LPL Spring 2024 has a total prize pool of ¥4,200,000 CNY ($590,128 USD).
The winner of the marquee eSports tournament will receive a cash prize of ¥2,000,000 CNY ($281,013.80 USD).
