The Asian Games 2023 will start on September 23 and conclude on October 8 in Hangzhou, China.

The 19th edition of the Asian Games was postponed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 15-day long continental showpiece competition was earlier scheduled to take place from September 10 to 25 last year.

As many as 40 sports, including 481 events, will feature in Asian Games 2023. 

Esports will make its debut as a medal event in Asiad as one of the disciplines to be played at Hangzhou 2023.

Five years back, Esports made its mark as a demonstration sport at Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia.

The upcoming Asian Games will be the second major multi-sport event to feature esports after the Southeast Asian Games 2023 and here we take a closer look at eSports at Asian Games 2023.

As many as seven medal events and two demonstration events are set to be played at Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

Arena of Valor (Asian Games version), Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile (Asian Games version) and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition are the seven medal events at Hangzhou 2023. 

Meanwhile, the Indian esports team will compete in four of the seven esports events at Asian Games 2023. The Indian esports squad will take part in Dota 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

All esports games at Asian Games 2023 will be played at the Xiacheng District Esports Venue, later renamed as China Hangzhou Esports Centre.
