The main event of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series Season 3 began with the BGIS 2024 Round 1 on May 2.
Organised by Krafton and Tesseract Esports, the marquee BGMI tournament will see as many as 1024 teams participate in this phase of the event.
Registration for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2024 was completed on April 7 through the Krafton India Esports’ website.
BGIS 2024 Round 1 dates and format
The BGIS 2024 Round 1 started on May 2 and will conclude on May 5.
A total of 1024 teams from in-game qualifiers will compete in the opening round of the main event.
As per the format, these participating teams have been divided into 64 groups with 16 squads in each group. Every group will take part in three matches.
The top seven teams from each group plus the top 32 among the remaining teams (Total 480 teams) will qualify for Round 2.
Earlier, the BGIS 2024 The Grind concluded on April 28 as 255 invited teams took part in the competition.
BGIS 2024 The Grind, the qualifying event for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series Season 3, will witness a total of 256 invited teams divided into 16 groups.
The top 64 teams based on the cumulative overall standings over four weeks qualified for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2024.
Meanwhile, Krafton also hosted the BGIS 2024 In-Game Qualifiers from April 15 to 21.
As per the BGIS 2024 In-Game Qualifiers format, all participating teams competed in a total of 15 matches in classic mode. The top 1024 teams advanced to Round 1 of the marquee BGMI event.
BGIS 2024 Round 1 points system
The BGIS 2024 Round 1 will be contested in a 10-point scoring system. Each WWCD winner of each match will bag 10 points.

BGIS 2024 Round 1 total prize pool
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024 will offer a total prize pool of a whopping INR 2 crore.
The winner of the BGIS 2024 will receive a cash prize of INR 60 lakh while the runner-up will get INR 30 lakh.
The third and fourth-placed teams will get INR 20 lakh and INR 15 lakh, respectively.
