One of the most high-profile eSports events, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 started on August 31 and will run till October 14 in India. 

Organised by Krafton, the BGIS 2023 is the second edition of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series.

More than 2,000 esports teams will compete for the prestigious BGIS 2023 title.

BGIS 2023 format

The BGIS 2023 started with Round 1 on August 31. As many as 2048 teams from in-game qualifiers participated in Round 1. These 2048 teams have been divided into 128 groups of 16 teams each.

A total of 480 teams including the top three teams from each group along with 96 high-ranked sides will progress to Round 2.

As many as 512 teams will battle in BGIS 2023 Round 2. The 480 teams from Round 1 and bottom 32 teams from The Grind Week 5 will then compete in the second round.

In Round 2, these 512 teams will be divided into 32 groups of 16 teams each.

A total of 224 teams including the top seven teams from each group will advance to Round 3.

In the next round of BGIS 2023, as many as 256 teams will take part. The top 32 teams from The Grind Week 5 and 224 esports teams from Round 2 will compete for a place in Round 4. 

As many as 64 teams including the top four teams from each group will storm into BGIS 2023 Round 4.

Meanwhile, the fifth-placed team from each group will progress to the additional stage named Losers Bracket.

The BGIS 2023 quarter-finals will begin on September 21 and conclude on September 24.

A total of 64 teams will be divided into four groups of 21 esports sides each. The top four teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

In the BGIS 2023 Losers Bracket, as many as 64 teams will battle. These 64 teams comprise 16 teams from Round 3 and 48 teams from BGIS 2023 quarter-finals.

In this round, these 64 teams have been placed in four groups of 16 teams each. The top four teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.

The BGIS 2023 semi-finals will be held from October 4-7. As many as 32 teams will compete for the BGIS 2023 title.

These 32 teams will be divided into four groups of eight teams each. The semi-finals will be contested in a round-robin format. The top 16 teams will then secure a place in BGIS 2023 Grand Finals.

The BGIS 2023 Grand Finals is scheduled to take place from October 12-14. A total of 18 matches will be played over three days to determine the BGIS 2023 winner.

BGIS 2023 prize pool

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 has a total prize pool of INR 2 crore ($242,347 USD), while the winner will be rewarded with a prize money of INR 75 lakh ($90,879.98 USD).

The second-placed team will receive INR 37.5 lakh ($45,439.99). The third and fourth-placed teams will get a prize money of INR 25 lakh ($30,293.33 USD) and INR 17.5 lakh ($15,146.66 USD) respectively.

Where to watch BGIS 2023 live in India?

Live streaming of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 will be available on the JioCinema app and website in India.

There will be no live telecast of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 on any TV channel in India.
