The Indian eFootball National Team is currently participating in the AFC eAsian Cup 2023 having been invited for the eSports tournament, which is set to run from February 1 to 5 at the Virtuocity in Doha, Qatar.

This tournament is set to run in conjunction with the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 and comprises a total of 20 of Asia’s top teams.

The 20 participating groups have been divided into four groups of three sides each, and two groups of four teams each.

The first-ever eSports tournament of its kind, Konami’s eFootball 2024 will be played on the PS5 console throughout eAC23.

Each participating team is made up of two main players as well as a substitute and matches will last for 12 minutes in a 2v2 format. All encounters will be played over two legs.

During the group stage, each team will play the other teams in their respective groups twice with the top two sides from each group progressing to the along with the the four best third-place finishers.

Team India, also known as the eTigers, comprises experienced gamers like Hemanth Krishna Kommu, Ibrahim Gulrez and Charanjot Singh.

India are clubbed in group B alongside Uzbekistan and Syria. Their group stage encounters will see them face Uzbekistan on February 1 and Syria on February 2. The knockout matches in this tournament will be held from February 4 to 5.
