Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is one of the most popular battle royale games in India.
Developed and published by South Korean video game company Krafton, BGMI is an online multiplayer battle royale game that was first released for Android devices on July 2, 2021. It was later launched for iOS users on August 18, 2021.
While BGMI has over 100 million downloads on Google Play store, it was banned by the Indian government in July 2022 citing security concerns. The ban was later removed in May 2023.
As many as 100 gamers can compete in the Indian version of PUBG Mobile. The one who survives in the TPP-FPP survival shooter game is the winner. Individuals or a team of up to four gamers can play a match in BGMI.
The popular eSports video game, BGMI can be played as solo, duo, or squad. To make the game more interesting, gamers may add teammates to compete as a duo or a squad.
Meanwhile, the BGMI offers a variety of guns that gamers can use to eliminate all other opponents. These firearms in BGMI bear a resemblance to their real-life counterparts.
Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifle, SubMachine Guns, Shotguns, Designated Marksman Rifle, Light Machine Guns, Pistols, Throwables, Melee and Crossbow are some of the different kinds of guns available in BGMI.
Every weapon has its advantages and disadvantages, and hence gamers need to have complete expertise in using the guns in order to eliminate opponents across diverse combat scenarios.

Firearms in BGMI: Know about different kinds of guns
Close Range: These firearms in BGMI are critical for survival in the intense matches of Battlegrounds Mobile India. AKM, M762, M416 and Honey Badger are some of the Assault Rifles (ARs) that are used by gamers to win close range battles. These ARs deliver substantial damage in a short time at close range. In case, Assault Rifles are not ready for use, players can use SubMachine Guns, including UMP45, UZI and Thompson to eliminate their opponents. Apart from ARs and SMGs, gamers can also stick to new meta and utilise Shotguns such as S12k and DBS to combat their opponents in close range fights.
Mid Range: In mid-range combat, ARs and SMGs are some of the firearms in BGMI utilised to eliminate opponents. The likes of Scar-L and M416 are few Assault Rifles used to finish other opponents. While SubMachine Guns usually have bullet drop in mid range and also lower damage, UMP45 is one of the SMGs that is preferred in mid range fights. Designated marksman rifles, which offer the most amount of damage and can finish players with precision, can also be utilised in mid range battles in BGMI.
Longe Range: For long range battles, Sniper Rifles and Designated marksman rifles are some of the best firearms in BGMI used by gamers. Similar to mid-range combat, long range fights also need precision to eliminate opponents. M24, Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWM) and Kar98k are a few popular Sniper Rifles which are used to secure long range knockdowns. On the other hand, SKS and Mini14 are some of the DMRs preferred to eliminate opponents in long range battles. Players are recommended to use a DMR or a Sniper Rifle in large maps like Miramar to win long range battles without any difficulty.
