Bangladesh will tour Zimbabwe for a one-off Test, three ODIs and three T20Is starting from July 7, 2021. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced their squads for all three formats of the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe on Wednesday and star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will make a return to the Test and T20I squads after missing the tour of Sri Lanka earlier this year.
"Getting the best player (Shakib) in three formats is always a plus point and we are hopeful that the team will be morally boosted up by his presence. We are hoping to have a good performance from him," Bangladesh Chief selector Minhajul Abedin said.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal too have been named in the squad and are expected to be fit in time for the Zimbabwe series. That said, the BCB has allowed Rahim to skip the T20I series at the wicket-keeper’s request.
Regulars like Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Mithun, Al-Amin Hossain, Rubel Hossain and Mehidy Hasan have been dropped for the T20I series.
All matches will be played behind closed doors in Harare and Bangladesh will fly out to tour the African nation for the first time in over eight years on June 27.
