Afghanistan’s white-ball tour of Zimbabwe is set to begin on Saturday, June 4. The two teams are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is in the month. All the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club.

Afghanistan’s tour of Zimbabwe was initially planned for July and August 2020 where the teams were supposed to play five T20Is. However, the growing cases of COVID-19 forced the organizers to push it to January 2022.

The series was postponed for the second time after Zimbabwe failed to secure broadcasting services and now that everything is in place, the teams will resume their international duties.

For Afghanistan, senior all-rounder Gulbadin Naib has been dropped from the ODI side while the likes of  Qais Ahmad and Mujeeb ur Rahman have been left out from the T20I squad owing to their T20 Blast commitments.

The home team, on the other hand, will see the return of Blessing Muzarabani in the 50-overs format. Meanwhile, Craig Ervine will lead the home team in the ODI series despite last playing an ODI almost three years ago.
