India may have won the Test series as well as the T20I series against England, but Virat Kohli's toss record across formats hasn't gone unnoticed, to say the least. Throughout the series, including the ongoing ODI matches, Virat Kohli has won just two of the 12 tosses and have lost a whopping 10.

The figure is, in fact, poorer when considering his overall record against England. The Indian captain has led his team on 35 occasions against England (across all three formats) and has been on the winning side of the coin toss on a mere eight times. This is indeed a shocking figure considering the fact that Kohli is India's most successful captain in Test cricket. 

The 3rd ODI against England is Kohli's 200th international match as a captain during this time, he has won 85 coin tosses and has lost 115. This means Virat Kohli's toss winning percentage is less than 45 per cent. But despite losing the toss on these many occasions, India have managed to come back stronger, as shown in their Test and T20I series wins over the current visitors.

This is just a man with poor luck as far as the toss is concerned. And his lacklustre fate attracted several eyeballs, most notably, Ravichandran Ashwin's who simply to change the coin. Meanwhile, there were other reactions too:

Virat Kohli has indeed been amongst runs, but his last 100-plus run score dates back to November 22, 2019, against Bangladesh in the Pink-ball Test at the Eden Gardens. Since then, the Indian captain has crossed the 50-run mark on 17 occasions across all formats. It's been a total of 492 days since Kohli scored his last century.
