Normal service was resumed for India as Rohit Sharma slammed his fourth century of the ongoing 2019 ICC World Cup to lead India to a convincing 28-run win over Bangladesh to book their place in the semi-final on Tuesday.

Rohit’s opening-wicket stand with KL Rahul helped the 2011 champions get to a big score of 314 with Rishabh Pant also joining in the act with a quickfire 48 runs in their penultimate group game.

In reply, the Bangla Tigers were no match for the Indian bowlers as none other than the experienced Shakib Al Hasan (66) and Mohammad Saifuddin (51 n.o.) could manage a good score as the team was eventually bundled out for 286.

There were plenty of fireworks on the field at Edgbaston thanks to the Indians, but one of the moments of the match happened off the field. Pant had just scored a boundary and the cameramen at the ground panned to the Indian fans in the crowd, only to catch a glimpse of an elderly Indian lady blowing a plastic trumpet in support of her team.

The elderly lady’s cherished support for her beloved Indian team managed to send Twitter into a frenzy, with several prominent celebrities tweeting about that moment. A few even felt that the visual of her supporting the team would trump the man of the match for the game against Bangladesh.
