A rejuvenated Sri Lanka will clash with South Africa in a three-match T20I series, starting September 10. The series concludes on September 14 and all matches will be played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka enters the T20I series riding high on the confidence of winning the ODI series against South Africa 2-1. It was Sri Lanka’s first ODI series victory in more than 18 months and the first over South Africa after a gap of eight years.
Quinton de Kock, David Miller and Lungi Ngidi were not a part of the Proteas side that lost the ODI series, but will turn up for the T20Is. Miller missed the series due to a hamstring injury while De Kock and Ngidi cited personal reasons for their absence.
Sri Lanka recently defeated a second-string visiting India side 2-1 in July under the captaincy of Dasun Shanaka and they will be eager to register a second successive T20I series win when they face South Africa..
