Pakistan will lock horns with South Africa in a Group 2 clash of the T20 World Cup 2022 on November 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia. The Super 12 match will commence at 1:30 PM IST.

The Pakistan cricket team bounced back from back-to-back losses in the opening two games to notch up a six-wicket win over Netherlands in their previous contest. As things stand, they sit fifth in Group 2 table with two points in three games.

The high-profile opening game against India saw them go down in a last-ball thriller. Virat Kohli’s 82 off 53 anchored Team India to a four-wicket win.

In the match against Zimbabwe, the Babar Azam-led side was expected to bag their first win and get their campaign up and running. However, Mohammad Wasim Jr’s 4/24 and Shan Masood’s fighting knock of 44 wasn’t enough as Pakistan lost by a narrow margin of one run.

Nonetheless, they defeated Netherlands by six wickets to get a much-needed win and open their account in the T20 World Cup 2022.

On the other hand, the South Africa cricket team is the only unbeaten side remaining in their group. The Proteas sit atop Group 2, with two wins in three matches. The first match against Zimbabwe ended in no result due to rain.

The unfortunate no result was followed by a convincing 104-run win over Bangladesh, where Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw recorded the highest partnership in T20 World Cup history. The 168-run stand also helped Proteas improve their net run rate.

The last contest against India saw yet another smooth victory for the Temba Bavuma-led side as they rode on the back of a lethal bowling show by Lungi Ngidi and half-centuries by Aiden Markram and David Miller to seal a five-wicket win.
