Zimbabwe cricket team and the Ireland cricket team’s short association in the sport began in the 21st century when the two sides clashed for the first time in an ODI World Cup match in 2007.

Since then, the two countries have locked horns only in the limited overs format of the game.

As far as T20Is are concerned, Zimbabwe and Ireland faced off for the first time in T20 World Cup 2014, where veteran Irish batter Paul Stirling’s half-century inspired his team to a three-wicket win.

Zimbabwe vs Ireland T20I records

Highest total

Ireland scored 178/2 in September 2021 at Bready, which is the highest total between the two sides.

Batting all-rounder Paul Stirling smashed an unbeaten ton to power his side to a 40-run victory.

Lowest total

The Chevrons could only muster 110/9 in the fourth T20I of the Zimbabwe tour of Ireland and Scotland 2021, which is the lowest total in the match-ups involving the two nations.

Chasing 174/4, a resilient bowling performance by Ireland restricted the visitors to a mediocre score, registering a convincing 64-run win.

Highest individual score

In the same match where Ireland recorded the highest team total against Zimbabwe, it was Paul Stirling’s fantastic 115* off 75 balls which stole the show. The innings, played at a strike rate of 153.33, was laced with eight fours and sixes apiece.

Best bowling figures

Pacer Mark Adair’s lethal spell of 4/23 restricted Zimbabweans to the lowest team total in contests between the two sides.

The Irishman derailed the opposition batters, accounting for the wickets of Tadiwanashe Marumani, Regis Chakabva, Dion Myers and Blessing Muzarabani in a memorable outing.

Highest partnership

Former Zimbabwe skipper Craig Ervine and Sean Williams combined for a partnership of 111* in the third T20I of the Zimbabwe tour of Netherlands and Ireland 2019 to bag their first-ever T20I win against Ireland.

Moreover, it remains the only instance where a 100-plus stand was recorded in matches between the two sides in the T20 format.
