The Zimbabwe cricket team will host Ireland in a three-match T20 international series starting in Harare on Thursday, December 7.

As per the Zimbabwe vs Ireland T20Is 2023 schedule, all the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club on December 7, 9 and 10.

Zimbabwe are ranked 11th in the ICC T20Is men’s rankings, while Ireland are two spots below them in 13th spot.

Led by captain Sikandar Raza, the hosts will look to quickly bounce back after failing to qualify for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the West Indies and the United States. Zimbabwe finished third in the seven-team Africa Region Qualifier as Namibia and Uganda qualified for the main tournament.

Middle-order batter Brian Bennett and pacer Trevor Gwandu are the two uncapped players added in the Zimbabwe’s 15-man T20I squad.

Leg-spinner Brandon Mavuta and batting all-rounder Tony Munyonga have also been recalled.

Meanwhile, Tendai Chatara, Wellington Masakadza, Innocent Kaia and Nick Welch have been axed from the squad.

On the other hand, Paul Stirling will begin his reign as Ireland cricket team’s permanent white-ball captain in the upcoming three-match T20I series.

Fast bowler Graham Hume and wicketkeeper-batter Neil Rock have been included in Ireland's 15-man squad.

However, Fionn Hand and Ben White, who were part of Ireland’s last T20I series, have been dropped.

The visitors will head into the series after losing 0-2 to India in a three-match T20I series at home in August.
