Zimbabwe and India play ODI series after six years - watch live in India

After their tour of the West Indies, the Indian cricket team will travel to Zimbabwe for a three-game ODI series starting on Thursday, August 18.

The Men in Blue have opted to rest senior players like captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya for the tour.

In the absence of Rohit, Shikhar Dhawan will lead a 15-man ODI squad.

Deepak Chahar, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav have been recalled to the ODI squad, having recovered from their respective injury problems. Meanwhile, Rahul Tripathi has earned his maiden call-up to the Indian team for the ODI format.

Tripathi, 31 years of age, is known to be a versatile batter, and with Suryakumar Yadav rested, the Ranchi-born cricketer will look to make a mark in the three-match ODI series as a like-for-like replacement.

Zimbabwe, meanwhile, are yet to announce their ODI squad for the India series.

Zimbabwe are currently hosting Bangladesh for three T20Is and three ODIs before taking India.

The last time India and Zimbabwe went head-to-head in ODIs was in 2016, with a team led by MS Dhoni registering a 3-0 whitewash.

The overall head-to-head ODI record between Zimbabwe and India favours the latter, with the Men in Blue claiming 51 wins in 63 meetings. Zimbabwe, in turn, have won 10 games. Two encounters between the teams ended in ties.

All the India tour of Zimbabwe 2022 ODIs will be played at the Harare Sports Club.
