Railways women will take on Jharkhand women in the final of the 2020-21 Women's Senior One Day Trophy at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Sunday, April 4.
The Mithali Raj-led Railways side qualified for the summit clash after defeating Bengal by six wickets in the semi-final on Thursday. After choosing to bat first, Bengal rode on opener Deepti Sharma’s scintillating ton (113) to post 250/6 in their 50 overs. In reply, Railways chased the 251-target with six overs to spare courtesy Punam Raut’s 69 off 90 balls and Thirush Kamini’s 37-ball 43.
While Railways have won all their seven matches in the competition, they have several injury concerns ahead of the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy final. Opener Punam Raut had to retire hurt in the semis while Kamini played with an injury. Left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad had also left the field without finishing her full quota of overs.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand women beat Andhra women by 27 runs in the other semi-final on Thursday. In a low-scoring contest, Jharkhand women defended 217 to qualify for the finals as their captain Mani Niharika turned out to be the wrecker-in-chief as she claimed four wickets for just 25 runs in 10 overs.
Jharkhand have won six of their seven encounters in the tournament this year, losing to only Hyderabad in their group encounter.
