Day 3 of the Virtual Five5 Cricket World Championship 2020 saw some fabulous bowling displays in the simulated reality league cricket tournament on an individual front. Right from Shahid Khan’s fantastic over for PAK against NZ to Caris Woakes’ economical stint for ENG against AUS, the spectators were treated to some scintillating performances.

That said, we take a look at two of the best bowling performances from the third day of the tournament.

Ash Sodhi vs IND

IND, batting first against NZ in only the second match of the day, put on a 32-run opening wicket stand, and it was at this point when Ash Sodhi turned out to be the man of the hour. In his only over, Sodhi dismissed Shikhar Dhaven for seven and captain Viraj Kohli for eight. He not only picked two wickets, but also conceded just eight runs; the second most economical over for his team.

His exploits, however, ended in a defeat as NZ batsmen fell five runs short of reaching their target.

Jofra Archibald vs SA

Another brilliant spell ending in a defeat, ENG’s Jofra Archibald delivered a fine over against SA in the penultimate game of the simulated reality league cricket tournament, but Caris Woakes’ and Michael Wood’s expensive overs helped SA to register a whopping seven-wicket win.

Archibald, in his over, dismissed two veterans in Quincy de Kock and Fabian du Plessis, with both returning to the pavilion on a duck. The hammering of Anif Amla and Darren Miler though guided SA to a fine victory.
