Day 4 of the Virtual Five5 Cricket World Championship 2020 saw the spectators get treated to some truly stellar displays in the simulated reality league cricket tournament on an individual front.

Among the many standout performances on the day, Caris Gayle’s dominant performance against IND and James Butler’s heady knock for ENG against BAN shone in particular.

We take a closer look at two of the best batting performances from the fourth day of the tournament.

Caris Gayle vs IND

IND lost their first game of the tournament, and a certain Caris Gayle had a huge role in it. Winning the toss and electing to bat, WI posted 47/3 in five overs where Gayle alone had accumulated 31 from a mere 15 deliveries, which included four boundaries.

WI were equally brilliant with the ball as well and were able to dislodge Rohan Sharma quite early. The rest was done by captain Jackson Holder who dismissed Shikhar Dhaven in the final over while conceding just five runs.

James Butler vs BAN

BAN were given a harsh reality check by AUS early in the day and ENG hammered the final nail in their coffin, beating them by 10 wickets. A brilliant bowling effort from ENG restricted BAN to a paltry 32/3 and while everybody thought ENG would go easy with the bat, Butler had other ideas.

Smashing three boundaries and one maximum, the opener scored 21 off just eight balls to guide ENG to glory in just 2.5 overs.
