The United Arab Emirates (UAE) cricket team will host Afghanistan for two 50-over warm-up matches and three T20 internationals, starting on December 25.
The first UAE vs Afghanistan (ODI) warm-up game is scheduled to be held on December 25 while the second will be played on the 27th. The two warm-up games will be followed by three T20Is, to be played on December 29, 31 and January 2.
All matches of the UAE vs Afghanistan 2023-24 series will be hosted at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The upcoming series will be Afghanistan’s second tour of the UAE in 2023. In February, the visitors, led by Rashid Khan, clinched the three-match T20I series 2-1 in Abu Dhabi.
Last year, Afghanistan and the Emirates Cricket Board signed a mutual agreement to play a series of three T20I matches on an annual basis. The forthcoming series is part of the agreement.
Led by captain Muhammad Waseem, the UAE will head into the series after losing to Nepal by eight wickets in the semi-finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier Final.
On the other hand, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan will be high on confidence after their impressive showing in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

UAE and Afghanistan have played six ODIs, with each team winning three games.
Afghanistan hold a dominant head-to-head record against UAE in T20I cricket, having registered seven victories and just two defeats.
