The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Twitter account is once again filled with outrageous replies after it repeated the ‘Ben Stokes over Sachin Tendulkar’ comment. The board’s twitter account had earlier posted an image from ICC World Cup 2019 when Ben Stokes received a memento from one of the best batsmen ever, Sachin Tendulkar. The picture was quoted “The greatest cricketer of all time and - Sachin Tendulkar.”

Stokes played a wonderful knock at Lord’s in the ICC World Cup 2019 final against New Zealand to pull out a Super Over which England won eventually after tying the score because they had more number of boundaries in the match.
Though Stokes’ knock was surely a treat to watch, fans didn’t think that he has surpassed the Indian batsman in terms of greatness. But, this time around, ICC retweeted the previous tweet quoting “Told you so” after Stokes’ heroics in the third Ashes Test at Headinley helped England level the five-match series against Australia. His partnership along with Jack Leach pulled out almost an impossible task as the hosts needed 73 runs to win with just one wicket in hand.

Fans from all around the world and Tendulkar himself agreed that Stokes deserved all the praise for his match winning knock, but none of the fans could agree upon rating the English star above the ‘God of Cricket.’

Stokes has moved up to second position in the list of all rounders after he scored 135 not out and also took four wickets in the match which gave him 44 points to climb up from third to second spot where he reached in September 2017. West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder still remains on top with 433 points, 22 more than Stokes.
England will play Australia in the fourth Ashes test at Old Trafford, Manchester starting from Wednesday.
