Ruby Trichy Warriors are set to take on defending Chepauk Super Gillies in the final of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2021 on Sunday, August 15.
The two teams have already met twice in the season, with their first meeting coming in the group stage. The Warriors rode on the back of Nidhish Rajagopal’s quickfire half-century to beat Super Gillies by seven wickets. Watch the TNPL final live!
Their second meeting came during the playoffs where Rajagopal once again proved out to be key. Rajagopal, a top-order batsman, was helped by Adithya Ganesh as the Warriors chased down 154 with five wickets in hand.
The Ruby Trichy Warriors, with the in-form Nidhish Rajagopal and bowler P Saravana Kumar, are gunning for their maiden TNPL title. The Chepauk Super Gillies will have to rely on R Sai Kishore, who finished with bowling figures of 3/14 in Qualifier 2.
