South Africa’s domestic 50-over competition, the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge Division One 2022, will conclude on Wednesday, April 6 with an exciting final between table-toppers Titans and Lions at SuperSport Park cricket stadium in Centurion.
The Sibonelo Makhanya-led Titans have lost a solitary game in the ongoing campaign and interestingly enough, the defeat came against the Lions in match 24 on April 1.
In what was a rather low-scoring affair, Lions rode on Bjorn Fortuin’s five-wicket haul to restrict Titans to just 145. Titans, too, made life miserable with the ball, with the Lions managing to win the match by one wicket.
Despite the defeat, the Titans finished the group stage at the top of the table after having won five of their seven matches. Their final league stage fixture was abandoned due to rain.
Lions, on the other hand, suffered back-to-back losses earlier in the season but picked up the pace as the season progressed. Like the Titans, they too had one match abandoned due to rain. With four wins and two losses from seven matches, the Lions finished second in the standings.
The two teams have showcased extreme dominance on different fronts, with Heinrich Klaasen of Titans topping the most runs list while Sisanda Magala of Lions is topping the most wickets list.
The Titans batter has aggregated 414 runs in seven matches at an impressive average of 69.00. This includes as many as two centuries. Magala, on the other hand, has scalped a whopping 21 wickets in six games while bowling at an economy of 4.72.

Live streaming of the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge Division One 2022 final between Titans and Lions will be available on Super Sport’s YouTube channel. There will be no live telecast of the CSA One Day Cup 2022 final in India.
