Salem Spartans (SS) will square off against Nellai Royal Kings (NRK) in the fourth match of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2022 at the Indian Cement Company Ground in Tirunelveli on Saturday, June 25. The match will start at 7:15 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).
Led by Baba Aparajith, Nellai Royal Kings defeated defending champions Chepauk Super Gillies (CSG) in the opening match of TNPL 2022 on Thursday.
Put into bat, Nellai Royal Kings rode on Laxmesha Suryaprakash’s 50-ball 62 and Sanjay Yadav’s unbeaten 87 off just 47 balls to post 184/4 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, captain Kaushik Gandhi (64) and Sonu Yadav (34) powered Chepauk Super Gillies to 184/7 in their 20 overs. In the Super Over, CSG managed nine runs which were later chased down by NRK with a ball to spare.
On the other hand, Salem Spartans will start their TNPL 2022 campaign against NRK on Saturday. The Murugan Ashwin-led Salem Spartans will hope for an improved showing in the ongoing edition of TNPL, having finished seventh last season with just five points from seven matches.
