The Sri Lanka women’s cricket team are set to host the West Indies women cricket team in a three-match ODI series, starting on Saturday, June 15.
The Windies women will be high on confidence heading into this series having beaten Pakistan 4-1 in a five-match T20I series prior to their upcoming clash against Sri Lanka. West Indies also beat Pakistan 3-0 in the ODI series between the teams recently.
The upcoming series could also serve as good preparation for both teams ahead of the women’s T20 World Cup later this year.
West Indies, who are sixth in the ICC team rankings for women’s ODIs, will be slight favourites to get the better of seventh ranked Sri Lanka in the upcoming 50-over series.
Sri Lanka women will back themselves to get the better of the Windies and head into the series after winning the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifier in May.
Hayley Matthews will be West Indies’ captain for this series, while Sri Lanka will be led by Chamari Athapaththu.
The three ODIs in this series will be held at the Galle International Stadium with all matches scheduled for morning starts.

West Indies lead the head-to-head record against Sri Lanka in women’s ODIs having won 18 of the 32 encounters between these teams in 50-over cricket.
Sri Lanka have emerged triumphant on 14 occasions against the West Indies, however, they’ve lost all five of their previous ODIs against the Windies who beat them 40 runs in their last encounter.
