The New Zealand women's national cricket team will play their first bilateral series in Sri Lanka, starting off with a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series on Tuesday, June 27.
The upcoming ODI series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship, which is organised to determine qualification for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 to be hosted in India.

Wicketkeeper-batter Isabella Gaze and young pacer Rosemary Mair have made a return to New Zealand’s ODI squad following injury layoffs.
However, the visitors will miss the services of Lauren Down and Hayley Jensen due to different reasons. While Down will skip the Sri Lanka tour due to family reasons, Jensen has been ruled out due to a knee injury.
On the other hand, the Sri Lanka women's national cricket team has also named a 15-member squad to be captained by Chamari Athapaththu.
Nilakshi de Silva, Inoka Ranaweera and Sugandika Kumari are some of the experienced players that have been added to Sri Lanka’s ODI squad.
They have also named some talented youngsters, including Kavisha Dilhari, Harshita Samarawickrama and Vishmi Gunaratne to face a star-studded New Zealand side.
Sri Lanka Women hosted Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series in April-May. The hosts clinched the series 1-0 after two of the three matches were washed out.
Meanwhile, New Zealand Women will play their first ODI series since December last year. They also pipped Bangladesh 1-0 after two other matches were abandoned due to rain.
All the games in this three-match ODI series will be played at the Galle International Stadium.
