Sri Lanka will host Bangladesh in a two-match Test series from April 21 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

This series is the final Test activity of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship, which is set to culminate with the final between New Zealand and India in June.

On one hand, Bangladesh have won only one away Test in the last five years while registering just one Test series win against any opposition (West Indies, 2009). The Tigers last visited Sri Lanka in 2016/17 and ended up drawing the two-Test series.

Sri Lanka, on the flip side, won 1-0 when they toured Bangladesh for a two-match series the following year. The hosts have won just one game at the Pallekele International Stadium, thus there is extra pressure on the Lions to perform exceptionally well in the two-game affair. Speaking of notable absentees, Bangladesh travels to Sri Lanka without Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently playing in the Indian T20 League for Kolkata.

The Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh head-to-head record is in outright favour of the Lankan Lions, who have won 16 of the 20 contests played between the teams. At home, Sri Lanka have emerged victorious in 10 of the 12 games against Bangladesh.
