After losing the ODI series 1-2 against New Zealand Women, South Africa Women will be eager to bounce back when they face the White Ferns in a five-match T20I series, starting on Friday, October 6.

New Zealand though will once again fancy their chances of clinching the T20I series and are ranked third in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings, two spots above South Africa who are fifth.

As far as the head-to-head between these teams in T20Is go, New Zealand dominates with 10 wins out of 13 games, while South Africa have won just thrice.

That said, South Africa women won the last T20I encounter between these earlier in February and both sides have two wins each in their last five 20-over clashes. 

Sophie Devine looks set to be New Zealand’s skipper, and Laura Wolvaardt will be her opposite number as captain of South Africa.

The first three matches of the T20I series will be held at Buffalo Park in East London, while the last two games of the series will take place at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
