Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2022 begins on October 11 - get schedule

The Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2022 is scheduled to commence on October 11. The group phase of the 26-day cricket tournament will be played across 10 venues in six cities, namely Guwahati, Bengaluru, Surat, Mumbai, Vizag and Vizianagaram. The knockouts and the final will be held in Bengaluru.

The 37 participating teams are divided into two groups of eight teams each and three groups consisting of seven teams each. Defending champions Railways are placed in Group B, whereas last season’s runners-up Maharashtra have been drawn in Group D alongside 2017-18 champions Delhi.

The table-toppers from each group will directly qualify for the quarter-finals. Six teams, comprising five runners-up of the groups and the best-performing team from the remaining ones, will head to the pre quarter-finals. 

The three winners from the pre quarter-finals will move into the quarters.

Team Railways are the most successful team in the competition, winning the trophy a record 10 times since the inception of the tournament. Maharashtra, on the other hand, have reached the finals on five occasions, only to end up as runners-up each time.

In the previous edition, Nagaland’s Kiran Navgire finished as the leading run-getter with 525 runs and Aarti Kedar of Maharashtra topped the wicket-taking charts with 13 wickets.
