The Scotland cricket team will take on Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series starting on Wednesday, September 15.

The three T20I matches will mark the return of international cricket to Scotland for the first time in two years.

Led by Kyle Coetzer, Scotland will have a chance to test themselves against a full member nation ahead of the T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Oman and UAE.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us to play a full member country before we set off to the T20 World Cup. It gives the players a great chance to showcase their skills and allows us as management to find the strongest playing combinations,” Scotland head coach Shane Burger said ahead of the T20I mega-event.

“It will be wonderful to finally have international cricket back being played on home soil in front of our own fans,” Burger added.

On the other hand, the Craig Ervine-led Zimbabwe cricket team will travel to Scotland after playing five T20Is and three ODIs against Ireland.

The visitors have failed to qualify for the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup, and they will look to put on an improved show against Scotland.

Scotland and Zimbabwe last clashed against each other in a World Cup qualifier in 2018 in Bulawayo which ended in a tie.

All the matches of the T20I series are scheduled to be held at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.
