The Ireland U-19 cricket team take on Scotland U-19 outfit in a three-match Youth One-Day International (ODI) series starting on Monday, July 24.

Under the leadership of Philippe le Roux, Ireland will aim to make use of the Youth ODI series to prepare themselves for the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 to be held in Sri Lanka. The visitors have already secured automatic qualification for the marquee ICC tournament.

Ireland experienced a disappointing campaign in the previous ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup after being knocked out from the group stage. They suffered two defeats in three group matches.

On the other hand, the Scotland U-19 cricket team will look to get much-needed match practice ahead of the regional qualifiers for the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024.

Just like Ireland, Scotland failed to advance from the group stage in the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022. They lost all their three matches in Group D.

All three ODIs of the Ireland Under-19 tour of Scotland 2023 will be played at the Mannofield Park Cricket Ground in Aberdeen, Scotland.
