Sadia Iqbal claims the World's No. 1 T20I bowler spot
Pakistan Women’s left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal has climbed to the top of the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings. She now holds the No. 1 spot, a position she also reached during the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Dubai.
Iqbal moved up from second place after England’s Sophie Ecclestone missed her team’s T20I series against the West Indies due to a knee injury. Sophie’s absence caused a shift in the rankings, giving Iqbal the chance to retake the lead.
The iconic spinner has been a strong force in Pakistan’s bowling line-up, with key performances in the squad’s recent matches. Her sharp line and calm approach have made her one of the most reliable bowlers in women’s cricket today.
Iqbal said she was proud to regain the top spot and thanked her fans and coaches for their support. She also credited former Pakistan captain Sana Mir as a major influence on her journey.
