Team Hyderabad will look to register their first win in Indian T20 League 2021 when they face a batting-heavy Punjab side at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, April 21.
While the David Warner-led Hyderabad side has lost all the three matches they have played in the tournament so far, KL Rahul’s Team Punjab has won one and lost their other two matches to sit seventh in the points table – one place above bottom-placed Hyderabad.
Despite Punjab's better form in the Indian T20 League this season, as compared to Hyderabad, the latter's experience in Chepauk will put them in an advantageous position going into this fixture.
Punjab have played their first three matches in Mumbai's Wankhede before moving to the MA Chidambaram Stadium, whereas Hyderabad have played all their matches in Chennai this season, so far.
Apart from Hyderabad's acquaintance with the Chepauk conditions, the orange army also holds a superior 11-5 lead in head-to-head record against Punjab. While Punjab are a team that is failing to click as a unit, the Hyderabad management will look to make some urgent changes following their underwhelming start to the season. Fans would expect to see Kane Williamson in the mix in the Punjab clash.
