As per the schedule, the first three matches of the upcoming five-match T20 series will be played in Rawalpindi on April 18, 20 and 21.

Pakistan and New Zealand will then travel to Lahore to play the remaining two T20Is to be hosted at the Gaddafi Stadium on April 25 and 27.

New Zealand are currently ranked fourth in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings while Pakistan are placed one place below them in fifth spot.

Ahead of the T20I series, the Pakistan national cricket team has announced their 17-member squad.

Talisman Babar Azam will once again captain Pakistan in the limited-overs format starting with the upcoming T20I series.

Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim have also returned to Pakistan’s T20I squad after reversing their retirement decision in order to make themselves available for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

On the other hand, the New Zealand cricket team has named a second-string squad to be led by Michael Bracewell.

The Kiwis will be without several of their first team members due to them featuring in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2024 or other reasons.

The likes of Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Trent Boult, Mitchell Santner, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry are representing their respective franchises in the Indian T20 League.

Furthermore, Tim Southee, Colin Munro, Will Young and Tom Latham were also unavailable for selection.

The visitors have suffered massive blows as Finn Allen and Adam Milne have also been ruled out due to injuries.

Wicketkeeper-batter Tom Blundell and uncapped allrounder Zak Foulkes have been named as their replacements.
